How to Care for Your New Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are a popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms due to their durability, low maintenance, and beautiful appearance. With proper care, your quartz countertops will maintain their beauty for years to come.

Daily cleaning is simple. Use a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and mild dish soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners that can damage the surface. For tougher stains, a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for quartz works well.

While quartz is highly durable, it's not indestructible. Use cutting boards to protect the surface from scratches. Although quartz is heat-resistant, always use trivets or hot pads under hot pots and pans to prevent potential damage from extreme temperature changes.

Avoid using quartz as a cutting surface, as this can dull your knives and potentially scratch the countertop. Also, be cautious with acidic substances like lemon juice, vinegar, and wine—prolonged exposure to acids can cause damage.

For stubborn stains, create a paste with baking soda and water, apply it to the stain, and let it sit for a few hours before gently wiping away. For dried-on food or spills, use a plastic putty knife to gently scrape them off.

Regular maintenance includes wiping up spills immediately, especially those that are acidic or contain dyes. With proper care, your quartz countertops will continue to look beautiful and function perfectly for many years.
